Iran to launch embassy to Myanmar

TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (MNA) –Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Spokesman says that Iran has taken necessary measures to launch embassy in Myanmar.

Seyyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini, Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Spokesman added that Myanmar government has examined the proposal and conditions were favorable for launching an embassy.

He asserted that Mansour Haqiqat Pour had presented a full report Sunday on visiting the country as as head of the delegation to Myanmar, and said “In this report the necessity of Iran-Myanmar cooperation has been stressed.”

“In the parliamentary delegation’s report, it is said that each Muslim family with 6 members lives in a 6m2 straw room and they need to be taken care of their welfare and health,” said he, providing comments on the deplorable state of Muslims in Myanmar.

“The Islamic world, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Muslim countries should intervene in the issue as soon as possible,” Naghavi Hosseini asserted.

He asserted that during visit by parliamentary delegation to Myanmar diplomatic talks were held between Iran and Myanmar for the identification of the country’s Muslims and it was stressed that for moving them from camps to their homes, measures must be taken via embassy or consulate.
